Chaparral HEAD DOOR LATCH W/ NEW STYLE CATCH
Arrived quickly. Looks and fits like original on my 2007 boat. Improved latch design looks more substantial than the original…time will tell.

Chaparral Sunesta Head Door lock
When I’m replacing parts several years later I just hope it all fits - I don’t like to have to modify and add holes. This unit - even with an upgraded latch tongue - was a one for one swap. Easy and clean.

Chaparral Head Door Latch
A very nice replacement for the broken OEM latch. The side screws match "almost" perfectly. No issues installing this.

Door latch
The only recommendation would be to include installation instructions, i.e. remove door handle and plate screws to allow handle to slide into place and reattach items after handle is in place.

Pro: Perfect fit for '08 Chap 236 SSX. Con: Way too expensive, but felt I didn't have a choice in sourcing necessary part.

HEAD DOOR RT HAND LATCH W/ NEW STYLE CATCH / LOCK 24.00079
This is a significant improvement over the product it supersedes, so it seems the manufacturer knew the previous design was poor. This is a direct replacement for the Chaparral OEM latch from previous years. It fits perfectly and looks identical and uses the same key. This version comes with a longer mechanical latch which is spring loaded. The original had a small magnetic latch which worked poorly if at all. The only reason it does not get 5 stars is because it is welded shut and not serviceable, like the previous design.

Worked and no more swinging door
The latch arrived quickly and while the magnet was shapped differently then the original it works fine. My only nit pick is that the holes to attach it to the door did not align 100 percent which caused one of the screws to go in at an angle. Hoping we don't have to remove in the future.
