I ordered the shocks for the motor lid cover on my 2004 chaparral SSI 220. This is a stock replacement part. The fit was perfect, but I found that the 70lbs lift pressure on the shocks would not hold my motor cover up. Which I believe has been the case all along. The prior owner of my boat had a cut pipe that fit to hold the lid open.
So I checked in with Cecil Marine and they found a pair of 90 pounds shocks and they took the other back for a refund. I’m looking forward to installing the 90 lbs shocks. Thank you Cecil Marine!
